Assignment #8

What I will be posting about here is assignment eight. I will be having an imaginary interview with Louis Riel. I hope you enjoy it.

Jordie- Welcome Mr. Riel, how are you today?

Louis- Great, thanks for asking and may i say thank you for letting me be in this interview.

Jordie- Well Mr. Riel if it is ok I will be asking you and questioning you on some of the things that you do.

Louis- I'm fine with that, lets get started.

Jordie- Ok, The first question is that i understand that you failed while training for priesthood. How does that feel.

Louis- Well to tell you the truth I put that all behind me. I mean with all of the success i had in my life that really didn't matter. When you are living your life there are always achievements, but there are also always falier.

Jordie- That was real inspiring, but it is time for our next question, how does it feel to be the founder of Manitoba?

Louis-It feels quite good, this only happened though because i would always be thinking positive and keep trying until I succeed.

Jordie- Ok, now for the last question of the day, I understand that you had a seat in the house of commons. How does that feel.

Louis- It was qite an honur although they did not allow me in three seperate times. This happened because i made a very wrong choice about exicuting a canadian named Thomas Scott witch reasulted in me getting exiled from canada and other things like what happened in the house of commons.

Assignment # 7

Assignment seven 7. I got this assignment info from the museum of civilization.

4)

a. ?) Which category of Canadian Personalities interested you the most? Did you like the "we inspired", "we founded", "we fought", "we built" or "we governed" section the best? Why?

a) The category that I liked the most was when you clicked on the people and it would give you a short summary of them and there career. I did like when they would say things like we built but it was not my favourite part because I found that you got more information and you were more inspired when you click on the people and it has a short summary of what they did in there life or career, and when I am learning about a person I like to know who they are and what they did, so that just doesn't not give enough information to me.

b. ?) Which personality interested you the most? Why? Find an image of him or her to embed (add to the body of your post) and write, in your own words, a short description of what he or she did and why he or she is your favourite. If you get information from any source, you must credit it by creating a link to it (that includes information from the site that I've asked you to look at).

b) The personality that interested me the most was Samuel De Champlain because I always found that being an explorer really interested me allot and that I like to find things. This man did exactly that he was an explorer and he made huge discovery's and he was amazing in orienteering witch I find quite fascinating. At his time he was quite amazing.

c. ?) In your post, suggest three more influential Canadian personalities that could be added to this site. Why did you choose these people? Which categories would they fit into? Link to information about each of them.

c) The first influential person that I decided to post was Fergie Jenkins. He was the fist Canadian to ever make it into the baseball hall of fame. He is a real inspiration and I might talk more about him on the announcements. I chose him because he is sporty just like me. The second person that i chose was Jarome Iginla. He is a very smart on the ice and is a member of the Calgary Flames, he is the captain too. This is a very great hockey player and actually grew up in the place that I grew up (St. Albert, Alberta). The last player that I chose was Wayne Gretzky. This is also a very good hockey player. He is actually named the best hockey player ever played. He has the most records ever held by a single player. Now he is the coach of a hockey team called the Phoenix coyotes. His nickname is the great one.

5) The person that I voted for was Samuel De Champlain

6) This is very cool you should try it, you get to see what influential Canadian you are most like. Unfortunately I was not able to do it because it froze up.

7.d. ?) Which History-Maker did you have the most in common with? Were you able to figure it out from the clues given? What do you share with that person? What are some things that are different between you and that person?

d) The person that I was most common with was an artist named Emily Carr. I was not able to figure it out. Actually the only thing that I said related to this was that art was one of my favourite subject. The things that I share with that person is we have the same amount of family members (4), we both like to draw, and we both were in a school club. Some differences that we had were that she would rather have her face on a coin instead of being named after a school, and she liked to travel in Canada not all around the world.

e. ?) One hundred years from now, (in 2109!) imagine that students are learning about Canadian History Makers and they discover you. What will you be remembered for? How were you a Canadian History Maker? You are using your imagination, so think about some things that you would like to accomplish in your life and imagine that you have all the accomplishments of your life to look back on. Write a short profile of yourself, imagining the contributions you have made to the future of Canada. (Write this as though you've lived your whole life. You may have been a phenomenal athlete, the first black Prime Minister, cured cancer...use your imagination!)

e) Jordie Cseke- This is an amazing soccer player. He started when he was 15 in 2012. He had been trained by two of the best soccer players ever, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ronaldihnio. He has broke over 20 record including most goals scored, most free kicks put in as goals, and most played. Before he was discovered as a soccer player he was discovered as an engineer working at his grandfathers business tyne industries. He was born in 1996 in Burlington, Ontario and lived there for three years, then he moved to Edmonton, Alberta for seven years, then he moved to Ottawa and stayed there for five years, then he got discovered. This man is so thoughtful that he even opened up his own hospital all dedicated on finding a cure for cancer. Now that he is dying we are all remembering his accomplishments.

Assignment #6

The person that I decided to do my assignment on was Fergie Jenkins the baseball player. The two sources that I decided to get my information from are "www.fergiejenkinsfoundation.org/site_fergie.htm, archives.cbc.ca". Fergie Jenkins was the first Canadian baseball player to go into the baseball hall of fame (not to mention the first black Canadian to make it). He was born on December 14, 1942 Chatham,Ontario. This all star pitcher had allot of things that he has had to put behind him. For example, just a couple days before he was going to have the highlighting moment of his career, becoming the first Canadian to be put in the baseball hall of fame, his second wife died making that achievement into one of the darkest days of his life.

This man is extremely influential to Canadians and especially African Canadians because this shows that back in the racist times they thought that black people were totally useless, dumb, and had no skills whats so ever in sports. But this proves them wrong so much because not only was this man black and he made it to the professionals, he was also the first Canadian to make it into the hall of fame. This man was amazing and some of the amazing things that he did was pitch in four all star games, he had over 3000 strikeouts and less then 1000 walks, and out of 20 years 7 of them he won the championships. The teams that he played for were Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago cubs, Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Socks. He is a really amazing and inspirational person and a great person to learn about.

My classmates thoughts of 2109

Andi's- I thought that Andi made some very good points. He said that there was going to be much less water and there will be new inventions . Also, I do think that he should focus more on the more important things like the government instead on things like flying cars and a bigger C.N. tower.

James- James made some very good points. He said that he thinks the world still wont be here because of all of the pollution and how we are treating our planet. I think that this is true, didn't really think about this and how real it is. He also made a good point that if we were still alive we would probably we would be living on a different planet. I think that this is true, but if we will we would have to send out a probe or something out now because we do not have all the time to find another planet that we are able to live on.

Alex- My friend Alex made the total opposite estimate to Andi. He said that he thinks that the water will overflow the earth because of the melting icecaps in the arctic. I agree with this more than I do with Andi's blog because I don't think that Andi realized that we are having global warming and the ice caps are melting so that more water is produced each day then the amount used. I think the really problem is that we will run out of fresh water.

All of my peers have very good opinions and I respect them all very much.

2109 assignment #3

I recently visited Christopher Moore's blog and he asked us a question. What would life be like in 2109? This is really good question for me because I have actually thought of this before. Although, all I really thought about was flying cars and floating houses. But when I really thought about it I realized that there could be new rules. Also there could be the first native prime minister or maybe no prime minister. In this time period lots could happen. For now we will just have to worry about what is happening in our time period.
